The History of Outwith Festival Dunfermline
Outwith Festival got its start in 2017, and since then it’s gone from strength to strength every year. Set up with the aim of promoting local talent and spaces, Outwith Festival has brought lots of talent and visitors to the toon, and even got the iconic stage in the Glen Pavilion back in use. Since its inception, it’s been back every September to take over Dunfermline for a few days, bringing with it lots of energy and an eclectic mix of events, meaning there’s something for everyone.
Where Is Outwith Festival?
Outwith Festival has managed to attract some of the best artists and performers around and spread them across more than 20 venues across Dunfermline, turning the whole city into a festival space. This really makes Outwith feel like part of the city – you’ll never be far from a venue with some amazing talent. This year, the Outwith Festival spans 8 venues with their music all-dayer now happening in The Glen Pavilion instead of across multiple venues like past years.
Outwith Festival 2025
Outwith Festival has had some amazing acts every year, and this year is no different! From the 3rd to the 7th of September, you can catch Arab Strap, The Twilight Sad, Sergeant, Haiver and plenty more artists at the Music All-Dayer, listen to a live interview with legendary Fife author Ian Rankin, hear from astronaut Tim Peake, catch 5 star rated Scottish musical Mary, Queen Of Rock and see some incredible talent from artists like Alan Grieve, Elisha Enfield, and so much more.
