Forth Bridges in North Queensferry
The Harbour in North Queensferry is gorgeous, with small beaches right underneath the iconic Forth Bridges. You can stop by Rankin’s Café for an ice cream and take a walk along the Harbour, enjoying some of the most brilliant views in Fife. Try and spot the old red phonebox that’s been converted into a library and tourist information centre for even more ideas of things to do in Fife.
Things to do with kids in Fife
If you’re bringing the wee ones along with you, they’ll love a trip to Deep Sea World, Scotland’s National Aquarium. Take a trip through the UK’s longest underwater walkway, or see the seals who call North Queensferry their home.
You can also head down to the world’s smallest working lighthouse, still powered by oil lamp. The lighthouse is free to visit, but if you book in advance you’ll get the opportunity to light the lighthouse yourself and become a certified Keeper of the Light.
Of course, these things aren’t just for kids. Adults can enjoy them too, we won’t judge!
Walk Across the Forth Road Bridge
The Bridges offer some of the most stunning views around. You can walk across the Forth Road Bridge and enjoy the scenery of the Firth of Forth, and see the Forth Rail Bridge in all its glory. The Rail Bridge is a stunning feat of engineering, famous around the world and officially designated a UNESCO world heritage site. This walk will take you a little bit over an hour, so take comfortable shoes!
Once you’re back on land, drop by one of North Queensferry’s delicious array of restaurants for a comforting meal like The Shore, situated in the DoubleTree by Hilton Queensferry Crossing. Being right on a harbour, the fish and chips are always excellent.
